SNOW CONDITIONS IN WHISTLER RECIEVE FIS APPROVAL AS TELUS PRESENTS THE WHISTLER WORLD CUP

The International Ski Federation (FIS) has given approval to “TELUS presents the Whistler World Cup” race organizers to proceed with this week’s Men’s and Ladies World Cup ski races, Alpine Canada Alpin announced today.

Racing is scheduled to take place from Feb. 21st to 24th in Whistler, BC, bringing a record breaking season for ski races in Canada to a close.

“The course crew and volunteers have worked extremely hard to prepare the courses here in Whistler for the world’s best ski racers. As a result of their effort the track is very good condition and it’s ‘game on’,” said Alpine Canada Alpin Director of World Cup Events John Cassels.

The ladies get downhill training underway February 19th with the men kicking off races with the TELUS Whistler Super G on Feb. 21st. The Men’s TELUS Whistler Giant Slalom takes place on Feb. 23rd while the Ladies will be on course on Feb. 22nd for the TELUS Whistler Downhill and Feb. 24th in the TELUS Whistler Super Combined presented by UPS.
